Debbie is a graduate of the University of Natal (UKZN), with a Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology. She has over thirty years’ experience working as a psychologist, within organisations and in private practice, both as a therapist and as an organisational consultant.
Special interest areas include the treatment of anxiety disorders, mood disorders, PTSD, relationship problems, bereavement and work related stress. She adopts an evidence based and systematic approach to therapy, providing a supportive relationship in which the individual can explore and develop strategies to meet their treatment goals. Therapeutic approaches include CBT, IPT and short-term dynamic psychotherapy.
On the organisational psychology front, her focus is on talent management, from selection assessment, succession planning and career counselling to the development of leadership and management skills. She enjoys working with people of different cultures and has had the opportunity to assess leadership and management potential in a number of different countries.
