Fees & Rebates
Here at HMM Health we have clinical, generalist and provisional psychologists. Please note the fee structure is slightly different, depending on whether your psychologist has general or clinical registration. Our clinical and generalist psychologists are registered Medicare Providers, which means if you are attending under a Mental Health Care Plan, Medicare will refund you a set amount for your session.
Provisional psychologists are not registered with Medicare, so are unable to provide a rebate for a Mental Health Care Plan. In turn our provisional psychologist charges a lower fee.
Clinical Psychologist
The standard fee for a 50-60 minute consultation with a clinical registered psychologist at HMM Health is $245.
If you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, Medicare will rebate you $137.05 for a 50-60min session with a clinical psychologist (for up to 10 consultations/calendar year).
Generalist Psychologist
The standard fee for a 50-60 minute consultation with a general registered psychologist at HMM Health is $215.
If you have a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, Medicare will rebate you $93.35 for a 50-60min session with a generalist psychologist (for up to 10 consultations/calendar year).
Please note that if you are referred through a Medicare scheme other than a Mental Health Care Plan, the rebatable amount will differ. We therefore require copies of your referral prior to booking in your first session so that we will be able to provide you with comprehensive information regarding fees.
If you wish you may attend as a private client, or through your private health fund. If you attend through a private health fund, you will need to co-ordinate with them in order to determine the rebate for which you will be eligible.
If you have a Centrelink concessional card such as a Health Care Card or Pension card, you may be eligible to be referred under the Connect to Wellbeing scheme (formally ATAPs). This allows you to access up to 10 fully-funded psychology sessions.

Please note that the current fee recommended by the APS for a 45-60min session with a
psychologist is $300.

HMM Health is a Psychology Service located in the Whitsundays. Our clinics service Proserpine, Cannonvale, and Airlie Beach areas. HMM Health has Clinical and Generalist Psychologists who work with Children, Adolescents and Adults.
